40 Years of Federation

Sisters gathered at Lochinvar combined their celebration of two significant events in their history.  28^th July 2007 was the 40^th anniversary of the approval and establishment of the Australian-New Zealand Federation of Sisters of St Joseph by the Holy See, formally uniting the five separate “Black” Josephite Congregations.  4^th January 2007 was the 150^th anniversary of the ordination of Fr Julian Edmund Tenison Woods, co-founder, of the Sisters of St Joseph.

The Lochinvar celebrations took the form of a talk by historian, Sr Josephine Brady ssj, Tasmania - her talk very much appreciated by those present.

Later, the newly refurbished Heritage Room was officially opened by Sr Eucharia and graphic artist, Kate McLean.
