40 Years of Federation

Sisters gathered at Lochinvar combined their celebration of two significant events in their history.  28th July 2007 was the 40th anniversary of the approval and establishment of the Australian-New Zealand Federation of Sisters of St Joseph by the Holy See, formally uniting the five separate “Black” Josephite Congregations.  4th January 2007 was the 150th anniversary of the ordination of Fr Julian Edmund Tenison Woods, co-founder, of the Sisters of St Joseph.

The Lochinvar celebrations took the form of a talk by historian, Sr Josephine Brady ssj, Tasmania - her talk very much appreciated by those present.

Later, the newly refurbished Heritage Room was officially opened by Sr Eucharia and graphic artist, Kate McLean.
