JOSEPHITE LEADERS TO GATHER IN
TASMANIA
Sacred Heart Convent Tasmania
 |
On
23rd
April 2007
Josephite Leaders will converge on
Hobart
,
Tasmania
for an historic gathering. For the first time since the beginning of the Australian-New Zealand Josephites at
Penola
,
South Australia
in 1866, Leaders from all parts of
Australia
and
New Zealand
will meet together. The group of forty will consist of the Leadership Teams from the five groups who make up the Australian-New Zealand Federation of Sisters of St Joseph, the Leadership Team of the Central Josephite Congregation and representatives from each of its six Provinces in all States of Australia and from
New Zealand
.
The Sisters participating will focus on ways the groups can move into closer relationship without losing the identity of each. They will explore what the groups have in common, how the group cultures differ and, generally, how the Sisters of St Joseph in
Australia
and
New Zealand
can be
*a sign of unity
*a witness to contemporary Religious Life
*a sign of reconciliation (on the macro level) - by healing the division within the Josephite family which reaches back to their beginnings.
