LE PUY CONNECTION
In a touching connection with Josephite History, the recent 125 yrs Celebrations at Goulburn included a presentation by the President of the Federation, Jill Dance ssj, to the Goulburn Leader, Noelene Quinane rsj, of a wooden plaque etched with a tree depicting all the Josephite groups which grew from the original Josephites at Le Puy in France in 1650.
Fr Woods who co-founded the Australian Sisters of St Joseph had visited Le Puy and there are striking similarities between these Congregations and the Australian-New Zealand Josephites. The wooden plaque will have pride of place in the new History Centre at St Joseph’s Convent, North Goulburn.
